Juniors fall in Connacht Cup at second hurdle

Rovers Juniors 2009 Connacht Cup campaign came to an end at Colga FC at the weekend when they were defeated 4-2. Mikey Davitt & Kristof Jablonski got Rovers goals.

Achill Rovers Presentation Night

Achill Rovers annual Presentaion night for underage squads will be held this year in Mastersons on Friday 20th November . As usual there will be "Player of the Year" presentions as well as other awards for each of the Rovers squads. Squad managers will contact players in the next few weeks for their votes. |

Andrew Forry Cup 2009

This years 2009 Andrew Forry Cup competition will be held on Sunday 25th October at the Valley. The competition will be held in a blitz format of several teams kicking off at 12.00 noon . Players will be assigned to teams and participation is open to Achill Rovers Players registered for the U14s this season down to players who will be at least 10 years of age on the day. Forthcoming Fixtures

Next weekend sees Achill Rovers busy again in cup fixtures. In the U16s Cup, Rovers are at home to Iorras Aontaithe at 3.00pm. Earlier the same day the U18s are at home in the Connacht Cup versus Bangor Hibs with a kick off at 1.00pm. On Sunday the Juniors travel away to Colga FC for their 2nd Round Connacht Cup tie. Diastrous Result at Ballyheane

Rovers Juniors Division 1 title hopes fell apart after a diastrous 3-1 defeat away to bottom of the table Ballyheane B. Ballyglass with 34 points are now 4 points clear of Rovers while Clew Bay Utd on 31 points leap frog Rovers into second place. U12s Safely past Snugboro Utd in Connacht Cup

Achill Rovers U12s travelled away yesterday afternoon for their 1st Round Connacht Cup fixture against Snugboro Utd and came home with a comfortable 5-0 victory. Goals came from Brandon McGing, John Joyce, Roy McLoughlin, Tiarnan Cooney & Cory Kilbane sees Rovers into the next round. For U12s Squad results & info click here

Connacht Cup

It wasnt a busy day after all for Achill Rovers in the Connacht Cup.The U14s were unable to field a team due to injuries, and gave a walkover to Swinford. The U16s got a walkover from Killalla who were unable to play. The U18s tie was postponed so the squad travelled to Straide & Foxford for an FAI Youth Cup match only for S&F not to turn up. Only the U12s were in action yesterday details to follow. |

Juniors new Tracksuit Presentation

In an official presentation last night in Gieltys Pub, Alan Gielty presented Achill Rovers with a full set of squad tracksuits, sponsored by Gielty'S Clew Bay Bar & Restaurant in Dooagh. Members of Achill Rovers Juniors squad were on hand to model the new stylish tops. For photos click here

Achill Half Marathon Donation

In an official presentation on 10th September last, Achill Rovers recieved a cheque for €1000 from the organising commitee of Achill Half Marathon, which will be used towards repairs of the Club's facilities in the Valley.
