Achill Rovers U12s will start their season in Division 4 of the Mayo Schoolboys and Youths league with a home fixture against Ballina Town C at 6.30pm next Friday evening. Please be advised that those that are travelling to Croke Park tommorow for the Ireland versus Bulgaria game, should be at Ted Lavelle's Cashel by 1.45pm at the latest. The bus will be leaving Ted's at 2.00pm and will not wait for any latecomers. |

Training Nights for 8-12 year olds

Training & coaching for boys and girls who were 8 years of age by 1st January, 2009 and were under 12 on the same date, will take place every Tuesday evening at Fr. O’Brien Park, Valley from 6.45pm to 8.00pm. The cost is €2 per night. All boys and girls are welcome, whether or not they have attended previously. For insurance reasons, all must be registered. |

2009 Martin Gallagher Cup Competition

The Semi finalists for the Martin Gallagher Cup are now known after todays round of matches. St Vincent's and St Pat's both confirmed their places with wins in Group A (Group winner to be decided by toss of coin). U13s away defeat by Castlebar Celtic

Achill Rovers U13s put in another brave performance against a strong Castlebar Celtic side yesterday afternoon. With two superb goals from Eddie Doran, the match was tied 2-2 at half time. However Castlebar's fitness showed in the second half and they went on to win the game 5-2. |

The U18s lost 4-2 away to Iorras Aontaithe. After taking a 2-0 lead into the break, with goals from Mikey Davitt & Terence Dever, the balance of the game turned second half when Liam Gallagher was taken off injured. Achill Rovers go out of U13s Winter League Cup

Rovers went out of the U13s cup on the wrong end of an 8-1 scoreline against a tough Iorras Aontaithe side. A diastrous first half saw Rovers concede all 8 goals before the break. They managed to restore some pride in the second half by holding defensively and Roy McLoughlin registering the only score of the half. |
