Juniors in Chadwicks Cup Quarter Final

Rovers U16s on a roll.

Rovers U16s continued their winning ways with a 3-0 victory over a visiting Ballina Town B. Another strong performance from midfielder Sean McGowan and well worked goals from the head and feet of Nathan Lavelle and Emmett Toal secured the win. Martin Gallagher Cup 2009.

This years Martin Gallagher Cup competition will reach it's completion over the August Bank Holiday weekend. Both Semi Finals will be played on Saturday August 1st with Currane v St Pat's kicking off at midday followed by DVDs v St Vincent's at 1.45pm. The Final will be played on Monday 3rd August with a 12 Noon kickoff. All games will be played at Fr O'Brien Park in the Valley. For full fixture details, results and tables click here

U14s finish season on a high note.

Rovers U14s completed their season with a 4-2 away win at Claremorris this evening. Johnathan Fadian opened the scoring with goals 2 & 3 coming from Eddie Doran and the 4th from Fiachra McGuire. In a game of 3 keepers, Owen McNamara played outfield for the last 15 mins & missed a penalty. Patrick McNamara deputised between the sticks keeping his first clean sheet of the season. Rovers U16s advance in cup against Glenhest

Rovers U16s registered their 1st win this season with a 2-1 cup victory away to Glenhest on Monday evening. After going down 1-0 to a wind assisted cross, Rovers dragged themselves back with some good football. Goals from Josh McGing and Nathan Lavelle and a last minute penalty save from Oisin Gallagher sees Rovers into the next round. Squad info click here |

Juniors pick up a point on the Road

Water polo conditions stops play for the U16s

Achill Rovers U16s game against Straide & Foxford last night was officially "abandoned" without a ball being kicked. The squad made the 100 mile 4 hour round trip and was changed and ready for kick off, only for the referee to call time due to waterloged goal areas and a washed away touchline.

End of the road for the U14s title hopes

Rovers U14s last chance of forcing a title playoff ended this evening in a 4-2 defeat to Killala. After taking the lead twice thru
Johnathan Fadian, Rovers found themselves 3-2 down at the break. Despite dogged determination and some fine play Rovers could'nt claw back the deficit and Killala left the Valley as title winners. Congratulations go out to them. Squad results & tables |

Point picked up away keeps Juniors in 2nd place

Achill Rovers Juniors clawed a point in a 2-2 draw away to Clew Bay Utd on Sunday to stay in second spot in Division 1. However Ballyglass' victory against Ballyheane sees them extend their lead at the top of the table to 4 points.
