Group B - DVDs 4 - 1 Achill Sound/Tonragee
The DVDs opened their Martin Gallagher Cup campaign with a win against last years runners up Achill Sound/Tonragee. Martin Keane opened the scoring on 18 minutes with the only goal of the 1st half. Tonragee equalised within 2 minutes of the restart with a strike from David Masterson however Brian McGinty put the DVDs back into the lead on 62 minutes. Two minutes later a goal direct from a corner was claimed by Paul Fitzgerald, but as there was a hint of own-goal about it, Paul will have to wait until the decision of the competition video panel before his name can be officially put on it. Colm Gallagher rounded off a good afternoon for the DVDs with a 4th goal in the 74th minute.
