Achill Rovers Under 12’s won 4-0 at Castlebar Celtic on Friday night in this Division 4a fixture of the Under 12s League.
Castlebar defended stoutly for the first half. Despite having the wind at their backs, they only managed one attack. Rovers, attacked continuously but couldn’t score. They did miss a few chances and were denied a stonewall penalty.
However Rovers continued playing football and didn’t lose patience. Seven minutes into the second half, the opening goal arrived via Ruaidhri O'Sullivan who hit the net from the edge of the penalty area.
The second goal came after a fine passing move and was scored by Brandon McGing. Cory Kilbane made it three with a neat finish after being put through by Brandon McGing. Dylan Reilly scored his first goal for the club, when volleyed home the fourt goal following a corner kick.
This was another fine performance by Achill Rovers, who have now moved eight points clear at the top of Division 4a. Two home games this week are Glenhest on Tuesday at 7pm and Ballina Town on Friday at 7pm
