Achill Rovers will be hosting an Official “An Post” FAI Summer Soccer School in Fr O’Brien Park, The Valley, Achill Island, from Monday July 25th to Friday 29th July 2011. The Achill Soccer School will be a mainstream camp open to boys and girls aged 6-14 years.

FAI Summer Soccer Schools are part of the Grassroots Programme of the Football Association of Ireland and are designed to improve children’s technical ability whilst at all times focusing on fun and enjoyment. The Achill Soccer Camp will be one of over 300 Official Summer Soccer Schools run by the FAI during the Summer of 2011.

The camp will be taken by FAI accredited coaches who are overseen by a Head Coach qualified to UEFA “A” Badge level. All sessions are designed around innovative coaching techniques with all drills and activities in line with UEFA guidelines. The camp is suitable for children of all ages and levels of ability.

The Achill Rovers Camp will maintain the highest standards of safety, security and child welfare. All coaches are Garda vetted & background referenced checked. The Head Coach is fully trained in first aid and the camp has medical arrangements in place in case of any emergency. An Achill Rovers Coordinator will also be at the camp at all times.  

All children participating in the camp will receive an official Umbro kit and backpack on their first day as well as a football and certificate at the end of the camp. When making a booking you will be able to choose an appropriate kit size for your child which can include personalised name and number on the back of the jersey for an extra €10.

Camps will run each day from 10.30am til 3.00pm with a break for lunch ( lunch not included ). Camps are structured on different skills each day with warm ups and skills drills in the mornings and mini leagues in the afternoon focusing on the skills learned that day.

FAI Soccer Camps are an excellent summer activity, providing 5 days of top quality soccer coaching in a safe and professional environment. Achill Rovers are delighted to be finally bringing such a camp to Achill and hope this will be the first of many. We especially welcome visiting children to Achill who are not associated with the club. We hope their week with us  will be a memorable one where they have lots of fun as well as make new friends.

Age Requirements
The participant must not be younger than 6 years of age or older than 14 years of age on the 29th July 2011 which is the final day of the Achill Rovers FAI Summer Soccer School.

Prices
The discounted price for a single child booked before 15th June is €89. After this booking date, the price reverts to the full price of €99 for each child booked before midnight on the 19th July.

To ensure a place for your child on the Achill Camp, it is recommended to book as early as possible. The club has a limited number of places available and will not be able to accept further bookings once these places are taken.

Family Discounts
The FAI offer discounts for families with more than one child attending the camp. Book a brother or sister on the same camp as the first child and the second child receives a €10 discount. Any further siblings receive a €20 discount.

When booking, please remember to choose the Achill Rovers Camp in Mayo for the week 25th to 29th July. Incorrect bookings can not be accepted by Achill Rovers on the day of the camp.
